These Rupiah Denominations Are No Longer Valid, Exchange Them Before Its Too Late!
Exchanges can be made at all commercial banks or Bank Indonesia representative offices in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. After the exchange period ends, the notes cannot be exchanged again, said Erwin Haryono, Executive Director of the BI Communications Department, in a written statement.
BI explained that the exchange of worn, defective, or damaged currency complies with Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 21/10/PBI/2019. For coins, there are two main rules:
1. If the coin is larger than half its original size and its authenticity is still recognizable, BI will replace it at its face value.
2. If the coin is equal to or less than half its original size, there will be no replacement.
BI urges the public to immediately inspect and exchange denominations on the withdrawal list to prevent them from losing their value.
